After the first day, I couldn't wait to go over and see what had already been done.
The kitchen is GONE!
Temporary protection down and appliances stored.

Week 24 - It's the little things

Week 24: February 25 - March 1 This week was all about the little things...and the backyard. We decided to do a change order to get the backyard done because we figured it made sense to do it now, rather than leave it a big, muddy mess to deal with later, and my contractor gave us a good price (I consulted with others who have done similar work, including a contractor friend). The pictures in this post are all from Thursday, 2/28, but from both the morning, when I went over to meet with the contractor, and in the evening, when I went back to see the progress. You can easily tell the difference in the lighting. I have mixed them together so that the photos are grouped by location. Let's start with the backyard. This was started on Tuesday and by Thursday morning they had already removed the soil, put down the rough gravel, the filter paper, and the smaller gravel. This area will be the planting bed. Week 16 - DRYWALL!!!!!

This whole thing got a lot closer to looking done this week! Are you ready for it...... DRYWALL!!!! The walls got enclosed the end of last week and this week so far they've been mainly mudding and taping. But I'm going to tease you a little first.... The backyard. Nothing really new, but it's fun to start with this shot. Living room. Can't wait to have recessed lights! Holes in the ceiling for the wiring and the lights. Looking from the other direction.  AND......now for the beautiful, glorious, so happy to see it.... Wait for it. here it comes.... scroll just a little bit further.. little more.... Punchlist Day 2 - Getting so very close!

Saturday - 3/16/19 Last weekend we started moving things back into the house. Allen took Friday off and had a couple of guys come to move everything out of our bedroom to where it goes in the house. He also had them move most of our stuff back over from our friend's house around the corner.  Here are the basement pictures.
